About

Art is a necessity.

I've always found that I'm drawn to simplistic forms with flow and balance. I look for clean lines that compliment a form and enhance its ambiance. My current designs often reflect those shapes found in nature and modern architecture, but frequently stem from perceptions that are filtered through personal sets of experiences or memories. Inspiration is found in anything and everything. Contrasting texture, contour, and colors help to provoke the different moods I seek to project.

I crave the simple struggle of creating and the puzzle design often brings. I push to test my skills as well as explore and experiment with techniques unfamiliar. Sometimes a design is planned completely before I begin, and other times I just have a vision and jump right in. I learn more with every step. As with life, the only constant is change. I intend to continue to explore new processes, materials, and styles as my perspective perpetually changes.

Bio

The first 21 of my years of my lovely life were spent growing up in the northwest corner of Washington State. The latest 12 years I have been blissfully bouncing across Texas and beyond. In the last few years I crossed the pond a couple times for extended vacations in Thailand and Spain. I crave travel and await for my next adventure.

In 2005, I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Metalsmithing & Jewelry at the University of North Texas in Denton. Now living back in Austin, more time is being devoted to creating jewelry of my own accord.

Breast cancer can bite the big one. I'm yet another lucky survivor.
