Artist Statement

I love the feeling creation brings and carry passion for the arts…
Wearable comfort, durability, and care of craftsmanship are all found embedded into my jewelry works of art. These designs often reflect shapes found in nature and architecture, but frequently stem from perceptions filtered through personal sets of experiences, memories and dreams. Ordinary arrangements in the world around me create inspiring lines and compositions. Clean lines that compliment a form and enhance its ambiance are at the root of many of my compositions. I crave the delightful struggle of creating and the puzzle design often brings.
I intend to continue to explore new processes, materials, and styles as my perspective perpetually changes.
For my current jewelry line, Revived, arts of the ages are combined with a modern touch to reveal fresh timeless pieces.
I'm creating a union with the past using antique and vintage parts & pieces to build a new present of wearable art.
Years were spent enjoying the hunt and investing to build a vintage collection that could be revived into a fresh jewelry line of one-of-a-kind finds. Built in succession of my 08'-13' Linear Line.
Metal is my medium of choice due to its never ending malleability, forgiveness, and its recyclable nature. I prefer the aesthetic and process of hand fabrication, and replicate none of my pieces through casting. In the future I plan to expand the literal size of my work to include an array of wall sculpture.
Bio
The first 21 of my years of my lovely life were spent growing up in the northwest corner of Washington State. The years following have been spent meandering enchantingly around the globe. I dream for travel and await my next adventure.
In 2005, I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Metalsmithing & Jewelry at the University of North Texas in Denton. Lived 10 years in Austin then abound for more travel.
